Blog Posting Maniac

I was just looking something up on my blog, and I got caught up in reading old posts. That kind of happens a lot, actually. I was reading from the very beginning of 2009. It's back when I had been fired from that awful job in Orem and I was so happy. I was discovering the joys of homemaking. I found new hobbies and reignited old passions for old interests. I can easily say that that was the happiest time in my life. And it shows in my writing. I was funny. I was productive. I was prolific.

I miss that 2009 Emily.

The good news is that I am her, and she is me. I can be like that again. And since part of that me is posting on this blog a lot, I am going to try and post more on here. I have a list of 30 blog posts that I copied from my sister's blog awhile back. Instead of doing one item per post, I'm going to double up, or even triple up. Hopefully this will inspire my creativity in blog posts again and I can find a little piece of that happy Emily.

A Favorite Song

As I've said before, music is a pretty important part of my life. So it's kind of hard to pick a favorite. Well, plus, I'm bad at picking favorites of anything. But since I must pick a favorite for this (I must!), I'm going to pick "I Am Not A Robot" by Marina and the Diamonds. It has a pretty cool video, too.

It makes me want to put sequins on my lips. How about you?

Next up: A Favorite Movie

I know I just said I don't like picking favorites, but this one is easy. "Lars and the Real Girl", hands down. I love, love, love this movie. If you haven't seen it yet, well, let's just say you now have plans this Friday night. Yep, it's that good. It totally deserves a Friday night time slot.

Oh yeah. I forgot to mention it stars Ryan Gosling (told you...Friday night time slot).

I have to agree about "Lars and the Real Girl". I'm not sure it's my absolute favorite (that honor still has to go to "It's a Wonderful Life"), but it's right up there with that one. And, really, for the same reason. This movie has such a wonderful message about love and community. It's makes me teary-eyed just thinking about it. If anyone reading this hasn't seen it yet, do yourself a favor and watch it!

I bawled through that whole movie the one time I saw it. I don't think I could watch it again after all the grief Greg gave me over it, but I did enjoy it.
